AARON THE LG BARON STEALS THE SHOW AT THE FIRST BALASHI BEER ARUBA POOL TOUR 2008

Oranjestad--- Last Sunday, Smooth Billiards was the venue for the first stop of the Balashi Beer APT. This year the tour has 27 participants, 10 stops and Awg 24.000,00 (Usd $ 13,750.00) in cash prizes. The LG Baron pulled out strong from start and had no problem overcoming his opponents in a convincing way. Monday night eight players were left and it became a single elimination event. The Baron overcame long time friend and former participant of WCP 9-ball Indio Kelboom 7-5. Then he went like a storm over current National 9-Ball Champion Zero-Thunder Allan van Aanholt 7-1. In the finals he matched up with Master Ryan Rampersaud who was in dead-stroke, but the Baron had too much to show and beat Master Ryan 9-6. Go to Ranking for the new 2008 ranking. Oranjestad--- This Sunday SMOOTH BILLIARD ZONE will host the first stop of the Aruba Pool Tour. A total of 24 players paid Awg 500,00 (about Usd $300) to participate in ten 8,9 and 10-ball events. At the end of the tour in November 16 players will share more then Awg 20.000,00 in CASH prizes. All the top players are joining and a big come-back is Orlando Indio Kelboom former WCP participant and multiple champion. The field is leaded by 2008 National 9-Ball Champion Allan “Zero-Thunder” Van Aanholt, 2007 Aruba Tour Champion Ditto “Digi-Gun” Acosta, Richard The Wolffman, Aaron “The LG Baron”, Master Ryan Rampersaud, Terrible Jorge Petrocchi, The Bull Gunnar Leonardo, Psychoman Ransley Tromp, Spechoit Fredley Tromp, The Flying Dutchman Martin Appeldoorn, Milenium Champ Elvis Evertsz these are the ten most popular players on the island. www.poolinaruba.com will have the update ranking.

D-GUN TOPS 2008 RANKING

Oranjestad--- Ditto Acosta won the national A-ranking in 2008. He took it over in September, and never looked back. Even missing the first and last tour stops couldn’t stop D-Gun. Winning the 8-Ball nationals plus three more stop was enough. Marlon Tromp a young gun won the B-ranking, which was a new format where none top players competed in several tournaments. Aruba pool World can look back on another successfully Pool year with Juan Ridderstap leading the local pool federation FEBIAR, 66 players participated in the A-ranking. 2008 promise to be better with the first Scothborgh Cup coming up, a challenge between Aruba’s top five and Curacao top five on Curacao soil February 29th. This event will honor legendary pool wizard Mr. Eddy Scothborg who passed away last year. The Caribbean Billiard Union is another positive and important “move” for Caribbean players. Several tours will reunion the best Caribbean players from all around the World. So we all look forward to 2008.

WPA expels Pan-American Billiard Confereration

Dear Billiards Friends:

The World Pool-Billiards Association (WPA), has permanently expelled membership of its South American member, CPB, for violation of the WPA Constitution. The CPB had taken in memberships of other pool-billiard associations from North America and was reluctant to abide by WPA consitution, therefore acting outside it's CPB authority and jurisdiction.

All Latin American, Central American, South American, and Caribbean Nations are encouraged to solicit direct membership to the WPA if they wish to do so.

Soliciting countries will not have voting privileges at General Assembly Meetings but would be notified and provided opportunities to be included in future sanctioned events by the WPA.

Please feel free to contact the undersigned with questions regarding this notice and or with questions related to your National Federations. I will gladly try to serve as point of contact with the above mentioned World Governing Body, known as the WPA.

La Asociacion Mundial de Billar, mejor conocida como la World Pool-Billiards Association (WPA) ha expulsado permanentemente la membresia de su representante en Sur America, entiendase la CPB, por violaciones a los Estatutos de la WPA. La CPB habia tomado membresias de otras organizaciones de pool en Norte America y se rehusaba a reconocer la Constitucion de la WPA; por lo tanto estaba actuando fuera de su autoridad y jurisdiccion.

Se recomiendo entonces que todos los paises Latinoamericanos y del Caribe soliciten inclusion en la Asociacion Mundial de Billar (mejor conocida como la WPA) de forma directa a la organizacion si asi lo desean.

Aquellos paises que sometan sus solicitudes de asociacion, no tendran derecho al voto en las Asambleas de la WPA pero los paises afiliados seran notificados y posiblemente

provistos de oportunidades para ser incluidos en futuros eventos mundiales auspiciados por la Asociacion Mundial.
